Audience

Application developers who are building graphical interface applications using Microsoft's VB.NET.

Prerequisites

Programmers who have attended an introductory VB.Net 2008 class or have at least 6 months VB.NET programming or comparable experience.

Objectives

Upon successful completion, the participant will be able to:

  • Perform appropriate screen edits at run-time.
  • Enhance an application's appearance and behavior.
  • Trap run-time errors in code.
  • Provide full data access (Inquire, Add, Update, Delete) to data structures supported by ADO.NET.
  • Read XML files using ADO.NET.
  • Use LINQ with DataSets and XML.
  • List the basic Object-Oriented concepts and how they are implemented with VB.NET. Included is Cross-Language and Visual Inheritance.
  • Create and interact with Objects.
  • Create and invoke a simple Web Service using VB.NET.
