TSO and COBOL coding experience

Objectives

Upon successful completion, the participant will:

· Be introduced to the basic IDMS constructs of record type, set type, area, page, schema, and subschema.

· Be able to interpret an IDMS Data Structure Diagram.

· Be introduced to and demonstrate the IDMS concept of Currency.

· Demonstrate the usage of the following DML commands to access and modify data on an IDMS database within a Batch environment: BIND, READY, FINISH, FIND, GET, OBTAIN, MODIFY, ERASE, CONNECT, DISCONNECT and ACCEPT.

· Recognize the proper usage of IDMS record locking in conjunction with the IDMS DML commands.
